The little mermaid got to trick or treat on the town square! First we stopped at Hand Held to say hi to our favorite knitters. I wish I had thought to get a shot of them in their costumes, but we were in a rush to get out on the square before Zooey got too tired.
We wandered around the square, collecting a few pieces of candy for the parents (yes, we’re scandalous like that), and listening to the squeals of people that were delighted by Zooey’s mermaid costume. That’s really what it’s all about, right? Because she’s not going to remember a bit of it.
Zooey was pretty tired at this point because she didn’t get a long enough afternoon nap, so we had to head home.
I got one more full body shot while she was in her crib, but she was wiggly and fussy by then.
And here is a final shot of the tail on its own.
I made this tail from Dream in Color Starry in Blue Sage. I devised the pattern. I might write it up at some point as a one-size-fits-all for babies that are too small to walk or crawl, but for now it’s just going to be Zooey’s couture baby costume.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic Halloween!
